Mehran MohajerThe Knowledge of the Photograph
The photograph is empty. The photograph is silent. The photograph is still. The photograph is calm. The photograph is white. The photograph is black. The photograph is gray. The photograph is half.
This empty half seems to want, in silence and stillness, to speak of the other half. The half that is not there. Or the half that is outside. The one that is outside the photograph. What is outside of the photograph? I do not know. And the whole photograph is this not-knowing and questioning.
